“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
Dwayne Johnson
Keeping up with your own business tasks is a challenge when you’re fully booked with client work. Things like billing, marketing, or planning ahead tend to fall to the bottom of the list – not because you’re intentionally ignoring them, but because you’re busy.
I am going to be honest with you. I did not want to write this newsletter. Not because I don’t love connecting with you, but because I was busy. I got tired of being my last priority and letting my marketing slide. So I created a schedule, built a process, blocked time on my calendar – and now you’re reading this.
If you want a business that runs smoothly, this work isn’t optional. It’s how you:
- Bill for your time and services (and not leave money on the table)
- Keep your client pipeline steady
- Say yes to the right opportunities because you actually have a plan
And if you’ve been avoiding it? You’re not alone. Here are 3 ways to get back on track:
Ask yourself: why don’t I want to do this?
Sometimes it’s a mindset thing. Maybe you hate time tracking because it feels tedious. Or you avoid marketing because you’re not sure what to say.
Start by getting honest about the friction. It’s often the key to finding a smarter way through (or around) the task.
Make it easy by creating a repeatable process
If you’re reinventing the wheel every time, of course the task will feel overwhelming. Try this:
- Write out your steps once
- Use a checklist or template
- Batch similar tasks together
Small systems = big relief (and results)
Take it off your plate by delegating it
You don’t have to do it all. Afterall, you started this business to have freedom – not to spend weekends formatting email sequences or wrestling with your CRM.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s consistency.
A little time spent each week working on your business adds up. You will be more in touch with how well the business is running, quantify results and correct course quickly if needed.
Remember that done is better than perfect.
If something’s been lingering on your to-do list, let’s talk.
Whether it’s admin work, content repurposing, or behind-the-scenes marketing activities, I support solopreneurs by taking those time consuming tasks off your plate so you can stay focused on the work you love.
